Immediately after a course of action that took a couple of times, the OSIRIS-REx mission has stowed away the sample of regolith that it snatched from an asteroid final week. Soon soon after ,the crew found that little particles appeared to be leaking from the collector head, and modified their plans to stow the sample inside of the spacecraft forward of program.
Now they’ve confirmed that the Sample Return Capsule is securely closed, as the Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Source Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) mission makes its way back to Earth. It is scheduled to depart the location in March, and produce the sample to Earth on September 24th, 2023.
