Taiwanese network-connected storage (NAS) devices maker QNAP on Thursday warned its buyers of a fresh new wave of DeadBolt ransomware attacks.

The intrusions are reported to have qualified TS-x51 series and TS-x53 series appliances working on QTS 4.3.6 and QTS 4.4.1, in accordance to its product security incident reaction team.

“QNAP urges all NAS customers to look at and update QTS to the most recent variation as shortly as attainable, and keep away from exposing their NAS to the internet,” QNAP claimed in an advisory.
